Moment for withdrawal and détente in Ciudadanos after the internal crisis opened by the electoral disaster in Catalonia.

The main public officials of the party are closing ranks in a public way around Inés Arrimadas despite having enlisted and having rejected his requests to promote "changes" in the formation.

"The leadership of Inés is indisputable";

"She is the best leader", they affirm after a cooling of the situation.

The underlying problem that gave rise to the criticism of its most mediatic positions is still in force because nothing has changed within the party, however, Ciudadanos has seen that at least there has been a slowdown in the escalation of tension that occurred between the days before the Catalan elections and the days after the vote.

At that time, the orange formation was in shock due to the bleeding of votes and, in addition, a prominent part was also in upheaval demanding that they purge responsibilities within the Arrimadas team.

A week after that intense post-election conclave that lasted more than five hours between the main leaders of Ciudadanos, and after failing to start any change from Arrimadas, such as the required replacement of Carlos Cuadrado as right-hand man, the territorial leaders have chosen not to strain more rope and have gone to a phase of relaxation in which they are reaffirming their support for the Arrimadas leadership and in which they cool down last week's episode so as not to wear it down.

"The leadership of Inés is indisputable," Toni Cantó said this Monday in an interview in EL MUNDO, in which he stressed that she has "unanimous" support within the orange formation.

The Cs spokesman in the Valencian Courts, who was one of the main critical voices in that Executive, insisted that "nobody" discusses her although at the same time he acknowledged that he had received some requests to lead the opposition to Arrimadas "But now I have said that I am not going to do it, he assured.

Regarding his proposals, he also avoided putting more pressure on what he thinks and stated that now the national leadership of Cs is the one that must "digest" what was said at that meeting.

Similarly, Begoña Villacís stated this Monday that Arrimadas is "the best leader and the best possible candidate" of the party.

The deputy mayor of Madrid praised her for being "honest and upright" and, in the same vein as Cantó, assured that "no one questioned Ines" in that Executive.

Previously, the vice president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juan Marín, had also defended Arrimadas despite the discrepancies over the management of this situation and despite being one of the leaders who was demanding "changes" with the greatest intensity.

"She is the best president and the best candidate at the moment," she stressed last Friday in EL MUNDO.

Although the last week has not been easy, the national leadership of Ciudadanos claims the party's project as "more necessary than ever" and calls for cohesion and unity to overcome because there is room for, they emphasize, the only party of "center, liberal, clean, reformist and responsible".
