The youth branch of the SP has again appointed the expelled Olaf Kemerink as chairman.

RED announced this on Monday evening.

Last year, the SP expelled 'attic communist' Kemerink from the party.

ROOD says, despite the provocation, he would like to be reconciled with the national party administration.

Kemerink was expelled from the SP last year along with five others, because according to the party they are a group of "radicalized attic communists", have violent views and are members of the Communist Platform and the Marxist Forum.

According to the SP, these are separate parties and double memberships are not allowed.

RED members must be members of the SP, but the youth branch has now put an end to that rule.

The members of the youth branch agreed on Sunday to a change of the organizational statutes.

Those who have been expelled by the SP can receive dispensation from the members of the youth branch and thus join the RED board.

A large majority of the young people agreed to dispensation for Kemerink, among others, according to ROOD.

Relationship between youth branch and party investigated

A committee is currently investigating the relationship between the young people and the mother party.

The result of this is expected no later than May 1, said SP party chairman Jannie Visscher.

Until then, she does not want to go into the matter.

Kemerink himself also says that he has not heard from the SP since Sunday's members meeting.

He does not want to say whether he expects reconciliation with the party.

"We would like to be part of it all again, but with more autonomy."

Kemerink says it could be that the SP sees the action as a provocation.

"But we want to be able to function with a full board. After the committee's decision, we will talk to the SP."
