The rector of Siena, Francesco Frati, has proposed to the Disciplinary Council the sanction of the suspension from service for three months for Professor Giovanni Gozzini, after the case of the offenses pronounced by the teacher against Giorgia Meloni during a radio broadcast last Friday.

This was announced by the University itself, which in the meantime has "cautiously suspended" Gozzini "from teaching activities while awaiting the ruling of the University Disciplinary Board, which will meet in the next few days".



The rector, the University continues, "after having publicly condemned Gozzini's unacceptable verbal aggression" against the Fdi leader, "to whom he personally expressed his closeness and solidarity, summoned the Legal Department of University to evaluate the measures to be taken towards the teacher ".



"Following the procedures dictated by the Statute - explains Frati -, I sent the documentation to be examined to the Disciplinary Board, proposing that the teacher be suspended from service for three months. Pending the ruling of the Disciplinary Board of the University, which will meet in the next few days, Professor Gozzini was cautiously suspended from teaching ".



"The vulgar and sexist attacks directed at Mr Meloni - concludes the rector - make us all a serious reflection on how serious, unacceptable and unreservedly stigmatized by these behaviors, often aimed at women. honor of the University and to ensure that the University of Siena, in turn a victim of the professor's declarations, is defended in its dignity ".
