Greifswald (dpa / mv) - The higher administrative court in Greifswald has confirmed the closure of hairdressing salons on the basis of the Corona state ordinance.

It had rejected the express application of the operator of a hairdressing salon against the relevant regulations, as the court announced on Monday.

This also includes the ban on hairdressing customers at home.

The applicant had argued that the regulations were too vague and disproportionately interfered with the freedom to exercise a profession.

The court acknowledged that the applicant's rights were being extensively interfered with.

However, the state's duty to protect the health of the population justifies this.

The court also referred to the time limit of the Corona state ordinance until March 7th and to the fact that hairdressers could resume operations from March 1st.

Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) had announced that hairdressers would be allowed to reopen nationwide from March 1st.

To what extent this also applies to the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, which is currently particularly affected by the coronavirus, was initially still unclear.
