Rostock (dpa / mv) - One week after the serious rail accident near Altheide (Vorpommern-Rügen district), the Rostock - Stralsund rail line has been open again since Monday morning.

"Since the start of operations, traffic has been back to schedule," said a spokesman for Deutsche Bahn.

After the accident last Monday, all long-distance trains between Hamburg and Ostseebad Binz / Stralsund were canceled last week.

A regional train with 34 passengers collided with a wooden truck at a level crossing.

The unloaded truck got stuck and the train couldn't brake in time.

Three travelers and the train driver were injured.

The damage was estimated by the police at around half a million euros.
