The Iranian government said it had agreed with the Korean government to transfer or use the frozen funds in Korea.

Iran's state-run news agency IRNA reports that Iranian central bank governor Abdolnaser Hemmati met with Iranian Ambassador Yoo Jeong-hyun in Tehran to agree on a plan to use frozen assets in Korea.

In response, an official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea said, "It is true that we have agreed on a procedural agreement with Iran, but there are still discussions with the United States."

Domestic Iranian funds, frozen by US sanctions against Iran, amounted to 7 billion dollars, and about 7.6 trillion won in Korean money.
