The snow is long and white, and the silver line is always smooth
In the early spring, Changbai Mountain is still a world of ice and snow.
Along the communication line, the reporter visited the communication station stationed in the depths of Changbai Mountain—Changbai Station of the First Battalion of an Information and Communication Brigade.
As soon as the reporter entered the site, the station encountered an emergency: In the computer room, the light of the optical transceiver kept flashing.
"Line failures must be repaired immediately!" Li Zhijun, the stationmaster, quickly made arrangements, "Switch passive routing to ensure communication between user units. Leave one person on duty, and others follow me on the line."
The wind is strong on the mountain, and the snow is waist high all the way, looking for the fault point is like finding a needle in a haystack.

In a hidden location, Han Zhaohua found the connector box and found the fault point halfway up the mountain.
The officers and soldiers first cleared the thick snow on the frozen soil, then used a blowtorch to spray the frozen soil to thaw, then use a pickaxe to cut the soil layer, and then use a fusion splicer to repair the fiber optic failure point.
"The temperature is too low, and the cut surface of the optical fiber cut by the knife is not smooth, and the fusion cannot be completed." After several attempts, Sergeant Li Hongzhong frowned.

Han Zhaohua told reporters that the line is 227 kilometers long and spans 28 mountains.
Every year when veterans are discharged from the army, a "line handover ceremony" is held in the station. The veterans and recruits will walk the entire 227-kilometer line.
Having taken root in Changbai Station for 15 years, Han Zhaohua himself can't count how many times he has walked this road. He said: "On this road, my youthful memories are everywhere."
Back at the station, Li Zhijun hurriedly organized a line test and he was relieved to see that the communication line was unblocked.
