Oberstdorf (dpa) - The World Cup days in Seefeld were sunny - and golden for the German Ski Association.

Markus Eisenbichler, Katharina Althaus, Eric Frenzel and Co. won six world championship titles and three further silver medals two years ago in Tyrol.

What is the shape of the German starters before the home World Cup in Allgäu, which starts on Tuesday?

Ski jumping men: The top favorite is a Norwegian.

Halvor Egner Granerud confidently leads the overall World Cup and is the hunted in Oberstdorf.

Eisenbichler and Karl Geiger have already celebrated victories this season, but they lack consistency a little.

The German jumpers should be able to fight for medals.

A title or even a double success as with gold (Eisenbichler) and silver (Geiger) from the large hill in Seefeld is rather unlikely.

Ski jumping women: There are more World Cup women jumping events than ever (three) and yet the German chances are not particularly great.

In the World Cup, Andreas Bauer's team has not yet achieved any podium positions.

The best chance for a medal is waiting in the team in Oberstdorf.

In the two individual competitions, the Olympic runner-up Katharina Althaus could cause a surprise.

Combination men: Just in time for the title fights, Hermann Weinbuch's protégés are back in shape.

Local hero Vinzenz Geiger is considered the first challenger to Norway's dominator Jarl Magnus Riiber, Eric Frenzel and Fabian Rießle are also in top form.

Medals are firmly planned for the team sprint and team competition.

Combination women: The discipline is new in the World Cup program and therefore difficult to predict.

There is a single in Oberstdorf.

The German Jenny Nowak is considered a promising candidate, but did not get above 13th place in the only World Cup competition this winter.

Tara Geraghty-Moats from the USA won in Ramsau.

Cross-country men: One or the other top 10 placement gave hope this winter, but it shouldn't be enough for a medal for Peter Schlickenrieder's team.

The sporting problem child is the sprint, in which the men regularly even miss the quarter-finals.

Cross-country women: Is there anything going on in the relay?

Or for Katharina Hennig?

With the women, the home team has at least very small outsider chances of a medal.

The women's quartet finished fourth in Seefeld.

Since then, top runner Hennig in particular has improved even further.

Their favorite discipline, the ten kilometers in classic style, is not on the World Cup program.
