Babelsberg (dpa) - The regional soccer division SV Babelsberg 03 has separated from its chairman Archibald Horlitz.
As the club announced on Monday, the 62-year-old entrepreneur was dismissed by the supervisory board with immediate effect.
His successor will be the former professional and trainer Björn Laars.
As the reason for the separation from Horlitz, Babelsberg named "different ideas about the management and direction of the association and the associated loss of trust".
Horlitz took up his post in April 2013 and stabilized the club economically.
«Since the beginning of the current legislature there have been talks about a timely handover and a change at the top of the board.
For some time, however, it has become apparent that there are different ideas about how such a change can be carried out.
In order to prevent a blockage, we now had to take this step, ”said Laars.
The 46-year-old gave up his position on the board of directors for his new post.
