The Department of Social Services in Sharjah confirmed that it is continuing a campaign to vaccinate the elderly, people of determination and their families with the first and second dose of the emerging corona virus vaccine (Covid-19), as the number of those who received the vaccine has reached more than 10,000 people of this category.

The director of the Elderly Services Center in the Department, Kholoud Al Ali, confirmed to “Emirates Today” that the community campaign launched by the department last January aims to reach the most vulnerable groups in need of vaccination, as 18 teams from the Elderly Services Center in Sharjah, Khorfakkan and Dibba Al Hisn Kalba, Al-Hamriya, Al-Dhaid, Al-Madam, Al-Bataih and Maliha paid home visits to this group, as they were trained, in cooperation with primary health care centers in Sharjah, on the medical procedures approved to provide vaccination.

She indicated that the campaign witnessed the provision of 10 thousand and 305 doses of the Corona virus vaccine to senior citizens, people of determination and their families, by 7254 people who received the first dose, and 3,051 of them received the second dose.
