Helicopter rescue is not only mobilized by cross-country skiers this winter.

Samu doctors were dispatched by two Civil Security helicopters this Saturday to Chamrousse (Isère), due to a sledging accident.

Three Lyon tourists were seriously injured, and another more slightly, as revealed by

Le Dauphiné Libéré

.

According to the regional daily, the four adults involved would have hung two sleds together to descend a red slope located above the snow front of the Recoin.

They were thrown from the sleds after a turn and fell for about 20 meters before hitting trees.

The trackers from the Chamrousse station then intervened and the three victims were helicoptered to the CHU Grenoble Alpes in the early evening.

A 36-year-old man suffered a fractured pelvis, another 23-year-old is believed to have a fractured femur, while a 36-year-old woman suffered serious shoulder injuries.

The last tourist involved was lightly injured in the wrist and did not require hospitalization.

An investigation was opened by rescuers from the CRS Alpes.
