The fonts are correct and beautiful, the content is all-encompassing, and each chapter is carefully labeled... At the Yuhuatai Martyrs Memorial Hall in Nanjing, the handwritten textbooks of Deng Zhongxia's primary school era often attract visitors to stop and praise.

Deng Zhongxia was born in 1894. In October 1920, he participated in the early organization of the Communist Party, and later participated in the founding of Shanghai University and organized and led the provincial and Hong Kong strikes.

He is a famous leader of the Chinese workers' movement and one of the earliest members of the Chinese Communist Party. He was only 39 years old when he died.

Compared with the experience of heading up to the execution ground and seeing death as home, most people are not familiar with Deng Zhongxia's "study tyrant" past.

He graduated with the first place in elementary school. After entering middle school, he ranked among the top three in every class in the school. He received the "tuition reduction" treatment until he was admitted to Peking University and met Li Dazhao, then professor of economics and library director of Peking University .

Even in that era when information was inconvenient to disseminate, the manuscripts of young Deng Zhongxia actually covered all kinds of knowledge about China's territory, waterways, situation, and coastal defense at that time, which was extremely rare.

"Martyrs, not only have the touching moments of dying, but there are also many qualities that are worth learning from future generations, such as their love of reading." said Zhao Yongyan, curator of the Yuhuatai Martyrs Memorial Museum in Nanjing.

The Communist Party of China has always attached importance to improving theoretical accomplishment, emphasizing the integration of learning, thinking, application, and the unity of knowledge, belief, practice.

The "learning gene" in the bones has allowed the century-old party to advance with the times and become younger.

The handwritten textbooks of young Deng Zhongxia are undoubtedly a vivid portrayal of this spirit.

Reading the yellow textbook, stroke by stroke, with great care.

This rural baby in Hunan even looked around the world early and wrote down the geography and climate information of many countries, such as writing "Berlin has the same latitude as Heilongjiang, and there is still ice and snow in March."

Without learning, there is no way to broaden talents, and without aspirations to achieve learning.

Deng Zhongxia's reading is not limited to the traditional four books and five classics, but has a wide range of knowledge and world in mind.

In the textbook, Deng Zhongxia marked each chapter, classified and summarized the content of each part, and corrected the typos in the blanks one by one.

Such a rigorous habit undoubtedly laid a solid foundation for him to start the "Laborer" weekly and establish a night school for workers during the revolutionary period.

  Learning is precious.

Deng Zhongxia insisted on studying in the environment of long-term hard struggle, even the last letter he left to his wife in prison still instructed to study English well——

"Study every day and don't be lazy...I plan to buy a batch of books for you to send, you have to know: prison is an excellent research room! Reading every day can eliminate the trouble of loneliness!"

The spirit of optimism and the hungry learning attitude are on paper.

According to Hu Zhuoran, director of the Nanjing Yuhua Hero Research Association, Deng Zhongxia is a model of "lifelong learning."

The hardworking spirit of study, the pursuit of excellent results, and the rigorous study attitude have made a proletarian revolutionary and outstanding scholar.

Now, to pay tribute to the pioneers of the revolution, the Experimental Primary School of Yuhuatai District, Nanjing has set up the "Deng Zhongxia Squadron".

When children come to the memorial, they will be deeply moved by the handwritten textbooks in the collection.

Only with a clear head can we be politically firm.

Facing the complex and ever-changing domestic and international environment and shouldering the heavy reform and development mission, it will be difficult to continue to advance in overcoming risks and challenges without persistent learning.

"It can be seen from hand-written textbooks that perseverance learning is indispensable regardless of the age. This is the enlightenment left to us by revolutionary historical relics." Zhao Yongyan said.
