• Events: Looting of shops and burning barricades on the fifth night of riots in Barcelona

The sixth night of protests in Barcelona in support of rapper Pablo Hasel was the one with the least disturbances, despite the fact that the Mossos d'Esquadra arrested five people for carrying out acts of vandalism and robbing a clothing store on Paseo de Gràcia, the same than on Saturday, and three more for public disorder.

This time, without a large group of protesters behind, the criminals had less protection to commit crimes.

During the arrests an agent was injured.

The protest began in front of the Sants station with a strong police device that searched attendees in case they were carrying blunt objects.

Hundreds of protesters, behind a banner with the slogan 'You have taught us that being peaceful is useless'.

They started the march towards Plaza Espanya, but there the Mossos did not let them pass so they diverted to Plaza Catalunya.

People were joining the rally until about a thousand people reached Via Laietana.

Fewer protesters stayed there again and groups of them began to throw stones, glass bottles, fireworks and garbage bags at Mossos and National Police officers who were guarding the Police Headquarters in the center of Barcelona.

They also pulled out signs and litter bins to launch and a group of violent men started a fire outside the Palau de la Música, the scene of vandalism on Saturday by breaking its windows.

The Mossos began to disperse the concentrates that were withdrawing towards Plaza Catalunya and in Paseo de Gracia, some people looted a clothing store, for which they were detained by the agents.

Other groups of violent protesters began to barricade the streets of Eixample and throw objects at the police, for which they arrested three more for public disorder and an attempt against the authorities.

With the dispersion of these rioters that remained, the less violent demonstration called this week in support of Hasel faded.

We will see if it is a truce or the riots begin to subside in Barcelona.
