Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The road accident report for the past year will be presented in Potsdam today.

Interior Minister Michael Stübgen, Transport Minister Guido Beermann (both CDU) and Police President Oliver Stepien present the figures.

In 2019, 125 people died on the streets of Brandenburg - 18 fewer than in 2018. The result for 2019 was so far the second lowest in the country's existence.

According to this balance sheet, 471 people were injured in accidents per 100,000 inhabitants.

In the year of the last available report, the police had registered almost 84,000 traffic accidents - almost two percent more than in 2018.
