February 21, 2021 The requests of the Italian Regions will be presented to the government this evening.

The appointment is at 7 pm with a video conference link between the government and the presidents of the Regions, in view of the Council of Ministers convened tomorrow morning to approve the Covid decree with the new restrictive anti-contagion measures.

According to government sources, the meeting will be attended by the new minister for regional affairs, Mariastella Gelmini, and the minister of health, Roberto Speranza.

On the table the possible extension of the ban on travel between Regions expiring on Thursday.

Towards extension stop movements

According to what is learned, the government is considering extending the stop to travel between regions until 31 March.

The hypothesis circulating in the last few days was that of a postponement until March 5, when the other anti-Covid measures would also expire.

But at Palazzo Chigi it would be considered to extend the stop to travel, regardless of the risk area, until March 31, and this - government sources refer - would be the line that should be adopted in the CDM scheduled for Monday morning at 9.30.

The Regions

'' Joint work and agreement between all the Regions for a platform of proposals presented in view of the next Dpcm.

We are convinced that a decisive change of pace is needed in the vaccination campaign and for economic recovery.

This is also why we asked the Government for an urgent meeting '', declared the President Stefano Bonaccini at the end of yesterday's Conference of Regions.

'' The priority now - continued Bonaccini - is the vaccination campaign.

It is going slowly.

And this is not due to organizational problems, or the unavailability of the population.

The problem is in the supply.

For this we ask the Government to undertake every effort to find more doses.

The Regions are available in the forms and in the useful and possible ways, starting from the direct involvement of companies and national supply chains.

It is also necessary to check the personnel who will need to be involved and we are already actively collaborating with the Government to reach a framework agreement with general practitioners ''.

Council of Ministers on Monday

It was learned that the CDM will be held on Monday morning for the launch of new anti-Covid measures.

Meanwhile, the new ordinance of the Ministry of Health comes into force, Campania, Emilia-Romagna and Molise go orange.

Bonaccini: "We need a review of the criteria and parameters for classification into bands".

Fontana: "

Continuous dripping

of closures and openings"

"It is a continuous trickle of openings and closings perhaps it would be worthwhile to find a system that could be more balanced and could give the possibility of being applied for a few months, for such a time in which people can get used to, businesses know when they can or can't open, to make it more precise ".

This was stated by Attilio Fontana, president of the Lombardy Region.

"We had a meeting yesterday with the other Regions - he said - With the government, we still don't know if it is tomorrow or Tuesday. The proposals are more or less those that emerged from the table: simplification, re-evaluation of the division into bands, acceleration of communications on the part of the technical-scientific committee, to ensure that other ministries also celery in the control room in order to evaluate everything together - he concluded -. To give a new meaning and a new step to this difficult moment. We have seen enough that unfortunately the division done this way doesn't help much. "

Bernini: "The anti Covid strategy changes"

"The anti Covid strategy finally changes: the season of 'last minute' nighttime Dpcm, which caused enormous damage to businesses, is coming to an end, and from now on the measures will be adopted well in advance , involving not only the Regions, but also the Parliament. This is the direction that Forza Italia has been indicating for months: we ask for an end to the indiscriminate closures of bars and restaurants, differentiating the level of risk and thus allowing those who respect the rules - and can therefore remain open in safety - not to block your business. It is a first step to protect public health without penalizing consumption and turnover ".

The president of the senators of Forza Italia Anna Maria Bernini writes in a note.
