Kiel (dpa) - SC Magdeburg has scored an away point in the handball Bundesliga.
At record champions THW Kiel, coach Bennet Wiegert's team achieved a 24:24 (14:11) on Sunday afternoon.
Daniel Pettersson was the best Magdeburg thrower with eight goals, and Niclas Ekberg also scored eight times for THW.
«That was an extremely tough game.
We were behind for most of the game and even had the chance to win in the end.
With a little more match practice we might have made it, ”said Kiel's world champion goalkeeper Niklas Landin on Sky.
It was the first game for THW after a two-week quarantine, the team had only trained together once.
Kiel was in the lead from the start, but the SCM could not be shaken off (5: 6/9.).
Magdeburg brought the outside into the game and went away to two goals after twenty minutes.
Even a break from Kiel could not irritate the Magdeburg team.
