Schwerin (dpa / mv) - From this Monday on, most children in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania can go back to daycare or day care.

The appeal to parents in recent weeks to look after their offspring at home has been canceled, according to the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Instead, a step-by-step daycare plan will come into effect on Monday.

According to this step-by-step plan, all children can be taken to daycare or day care as long as the incidence value in a region remains below 100.

If the number of corona infections rises above 100 per 100,000 inhabitants in a district or an independent city in seven days, parents are asked again to keep their children at home.

With a value of over 150, as is currently the case in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, there is only emergency care for children of parents in systemically relevant professions, for children of single parents and if the child's best interests so require.

With incidences between 50 and 100 - this is currently the case in the districts of Northwest Mecklenburg, Ludwigslust-Parchim, Mecklenburg Lake District and in the city of Schwerin - more precautionary measures are provided in the daycare centers than with a value below 50.

This included severe restrictions on singing and sports, contact lists, hourly burst ventilation and a necessary health certificate, according to the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Parents are then only allowed to enter the facilities in exceptional situations.

School also starts on Monday after the two-week winter break - for most of them, however, they are still at home.

Classes are offered face-to-face classes.

From Wednesday, first to sixth graders in the districts of Rostock and Vorpommern-Rügen as well as in the city of Rostock can go to school normally again.

There the incidence is below 50. For the others, the distance lessons continue as before the holidays.
