Various initiatives are already being taken in Södertälje to get more girls to start playing sports.

But despite this, there are still some areas that have particularly low participation in sports among girls.

In the whole of Södertälje, 46% of the girls play sports.

But Hovsjö is one of the areas that stands out, where 18% of girls aged 7-20 play sports.

The sports associations' collective association RF-SISU, which is headquartered in Södertälje, believes that there is a lot of work left to do to break the trend.

Among other things, the financial resources need to be the same for both girls and boys.
