Wietzendorf (dpa / lni) - The paddle of a canoe has come loose from the roof of a car in the Heidekreis and caused a traffic accident.
As the police announced on Sunday, a car was transporting a red canoe on Bundesstraße 3 in the Heidekreis when one of the paddles came off the roof of the car and hit the exterior mirror of an oncoming car.
The person who caused the accident continued without stopping.
All those involved were uninjured in the accident early Friday evening, and there was slight damage to the exterior mirror.
The police have started investigations into the exact course of the accident and are looking for witnesses.
