Geisenheim (dpa / lhe) - Three people were seriously injured in a fire in an apartment building in Geisenheim (Rheingau-Taunus district).
Police said a sofa went up in flames on Friday evening for reasons unknown.
The 56-year-old resident and a neighbor of the same age were able to put out the fire, but they were seriously injured.
The resident's 63-year-old wife was also seriously injured in the fire.
She was taken to a specialist clinic on Friday evening.
