Sweden's municipalities and regions chairman, Anders Knape (M), accuses Minister of Energy and Digitization Anders Ygeman of lying.

- Ygeman gets untrue when he tries to claim that some do not vaccinate and that others vaccinate much more.

You get vaccinated with the vaccine you have.

Delayed vaccine

The reason why the vaccination does not go at the pace it should is because the vaccine deliveries are delayed, says Anders Knape.

- In February, the regions will receive just under 30 percent of the vaccine promised by the government.

It is Ygeman's responsibility to ensure that vaccines are available.

The regions may not procure or obtain vaccines.

The state and the government have taken it upon themselves to fix this.

"An onslaught"

Anders Knape believes that Ygeman's statement is an attack on the vaccine coordinators and hospital staff who are waiting to receive the vaccine.

- I am very surprised and upset on behalf of my members.

It is tragic for the Swedish people that an opinion is formed that someone is sitting and holding a vaccine somewhere.

Anders Knape refers to Prime Minister Stefan Löfven's comment on Wednesday when he said that the vaccination may take longer than expected.

- Ygeman should talk to his prime minister who three days ago said that it can be difficult to keep the goal we have for vaccination in Sweden.

Or rather, the Prime Minister should take him by the ear.

It was in Ekot's Saturday interview that Anders Ygeman presented the criticism.

Among other things, he said that some of the regions "must step up their work and make sure to vaccinate the Swedes".

He also said that he thinks it is "strange" that there is so much difference in how the regions have been vaccinated and that some regions have already "thrown in the towel".

- My and the government's goal is still that all adults should have been offered a vaccine before the turn of the year, Ygeman said.
