Berlin (dpa) - The main actress in the remake of "We Children from Zoo Station" does not expect school screenings of the new Amazon series.

The lack of time in the curricula probably does not allow this, said Jana McKinnon (22) of the German Press Agency in Berlin.

She thinks that Uli Edel's version of the feature film from 1981 is still discussed in schools like the book from 1978.

“I don't know if you can go to schools with a series.

There is probably no time frame for this.

But of course I hope that many will watch this at home and feel touched by it. "

"Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo" has been available on Amazon Prime Video since Friday.

McKinnon plays Christiane F., a teenager whose clique is increasingly slipping into a drug swamp.

The model is based on the memories of a 16-year-old from Berlin, published in 1978.

The eight episodes of the TV series are about seven hours long.

Although most viewers probably didn't know Jana McKinnon's face before, she has a lot of acting experience.

As a child she was in front of the camera - mainly for short films and student films.

“I didn't even find out until I was 15 or 16 that you could get money as an actor.

I didn't even know that it was a job. "
