Following the announcement that Iran will stop accepting unannounced inspections by the IAEA = International Nuclear Organization, the top secretary-general of the IAEA will meet with the Secretary-General of the Atomic Energy Agency on the 21st to resolve the situation.

However, the Iranian side has insisted that it will take this measure as planned and has not shown a concessionary stance.

Iran has expressed its intention to stop accepting unannounced inspections by the IAEA from the 23rd of this month, saying that the United States has not responded to the lifting of economic sanctions.

In response, IAEA Executive Director Grossi has been visiting Iran since the 20th to seek a mutually agreeable solution for the continuation of verification activities, and will meet with the Secretary of the Atomic Energy Agency Salehi on the 21st. ..

Prior to the meeting, Secretary Salehi told the conservative Fars News Agency that he would stop accepting unannounced inspections from the 23rd as scheduled because the US sanctions have not been lifted yet.

If this measure is implemented, it will be difficult to fully verify whether nuclear weapons will be diverted to the military, and there are concerns from Western countries.

For this reason, the IAEA wants to overcome the situation through this visit, but so far Iran has not shown a concessionary stance and is urging the United States to lift sanctions.
