Ketsch (dpa) - The handball players of SV Union Halle-Neustadt have come one step closer to relegation.

Jan-Henning Himborn's protégés won their guest appearance at the Kurpfalz Bären in Ketsch on Saturday with 30:23 (16: 9).

While the hosts are still at the bottom of the table with just one win from 18 league games, SV Union is now six points ahead of the first relegation place.

Goalkeeper Anica Gudelj (nine saves), Swantje Heimburg (9/2) and Lea Gruber (5) had the largest share of the fifth win of the season.

Saskia Fackel (5/1) and Lara Eckhardt (4/2) scored the most goals for Ketsch.

The climber started this groundbreaking duel very focused.

Halle was leading 9: 3 after eleven minutes and extended this lead from 13: 4 (18th) to 24:13 (44th).

It wasn't until the final quarter of an hour that the guests made a few mistakes, given the clear lead.

However, success was not in danger in any phase.
