Doctors, teachers and educators should be vaccinated earlier

Hanover (dpa / lni) - The Lower Saxony Ministry of Health wants to enable teachers, educators and doctors to have an earlier corona vaccination.

“All opening scenarios rightly provide a high priority for the education sector.

So it is only logical to also vaccinate teachers and educators with a higher priority than before, ”said Health Minister Carola Reimann (SPD) of the“ Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung ”(Saturday).

Together with other states, Lower Saxony wants to campaign for a change in the vaccination ordinance at the federal level.

This should make it possible to vaccinate these groups earlier than planned.

Doctors in private practice and other medical staff who come into contact with patients should also be vaccinated earlier, according to the Ministry of Health, even if those affected are younger than 65 and thus belong to the second priority group.
