Berlin (dpa / bb) - A 22-year-old was attacked and injured with a knife in the Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg.

According to initial findings, the young man was approached by four young people on Saturday night at the Storkower Strasse S-Bahn station, the police said.

They would have asked him for a cigarette and then for his cell phone.

When he did not pull out the phone, one of the group is said to have stabbed his upper body with a knife.

The young man repelled the attack and was injured in his hands.

He was able to escape with the S-Bahn in the direction of the Greifswalder Straße S-Bahn station, where alerted police officers found him.

The man came to a hospital.
