Berlin / Bestensee (dpa) - Before the last two games of the Berlin Volleys in the Bundesliga, manager Kaweh Niroomand has only one wish.

«The opponent is unimportant.

We just have to play volleyball properly, ”said the 68-year-old before the Berlin-Brandenburg derby on Saturday (6:00 pm / Sporttotal.tv) at the Netzhoppers KW-Bestensee.

Before the playoffs, there is only the home game against the Volleys Herrsching on March 6th.

Anything but sensible volleyball was played by the team on Wednesday in a 3-2 win over SVG Lüneburg.

"It doesn't help to just talk nicely: That was a miserable achievement on our part," complained Niroomand.

The consequences of the loss of points against Lower Saxony are clear to the manager: "With that we also lost our small chance of finishing second in the normal round."

For their part, the Netzhoppers are fighting hard to reach the playoffs at all.

In this situation, every point counts for them.

How vulnerable the BR Volleys are in view of their fluctuations in performance was demonstrated by the Brandenburgers themselves at the end of November when they knocked out their opponents 3: 2 after a 2-0 set deficit in the cup quarter-finals.

But without their back injured director Byron Keturakis, the Netzhoppers are also on their way through the second half of the season in the rolling course.

Both teams also use the game in Bestensee as a dress rehearsal for higher tasks.

On February 28th, the Netzhoppers will play in the cup final against United Volleys Frankfurt in Mannheim and want to replace the reigning cup winner BR Volleys.

The Berliners, in turn, compete against Itas Trentino from Italy in the quarter-final first leg in the Champions League on Thursday.

There must then be no rolling course.
