Justice agreed to adjust the sentence of Patrick and Isabelle Balkany, convicted of tax evasion, nearly a year after their conviction on appeal to three years of firm imprisonment.

The sentencing judge in Evreux, in the Eure region, granted the Balkany spouses their placement under an electronic bracelet as part of home detention under surveillance.

This should be effective in mid-March.

The former city councilor of Levallois-Perret and his wife will only have the right to leave their manor in Giverny for a few hours during the day.

If they do not respect this obligation, they risk imprisonment.

At first instance, Patrick Balkany, sentenced to four years in prison with a committal warrant, had spent five months in detention before being released due to health problems.

The couple also has the obligation to reimburse the tax authorities.

As for their second conviction, for laundering tax fraud, it is not final since the couple appealed to the Supreme Court.

Patrick and Isabelle Balkany had been sentenced to five and four years in prison.

In the meantime, to spend most of her time in Giverny, the former strong woman of Levallois announced that she was joining the team of columnist Cyril Hanouna.
