Luxembourg (dpa / lrs) - The Luxembourg parliament has given the green light to extend the corona measures until March 14th.

The MPs voted for a government law on Friday with a narrow majority.

"We can't avoid extending the measures," said the chairman of the health committee, Mars Di Bartolomeo.

The numbers are stable, but still high - and there is concern about the dangerous mutants of the corona virus.

"Unfortunately we don't have a Harry Potter who could wipe away the virus, which unfortunately still has a firm grip on us," he said.

"So we still have a long way to go before we get back to the normality that we all want."

With the extension, the catering in Luxembourg will remain closed.

There is also a nightly exit restriction from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The following applies to contacts: a maximum of two people from another household are allowed to visit.

The retail trade has been open since January 11th under strict conditions.

Cultural institutions and sports facilities are also open with restrictions; face-to-face classes will start again in schools this Monday.
