Hanover (dpa / lni) - The state of Lower Saxony and the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KVN) want to test corona vaccinations in medical practices in a pilot project.

"The plan is to begin in early March," said a spokesman for the KVN on Friday.

Before that, Antenne Niedersachsen and the NDR reported about it.

Four to five practices in a region should be determined for the test run.

It is foreseeable that with an increasingly better availability of vaccines, the vaccination centers will be overwhelmed by vaccinating the population, said the spokesman.

From the point of view of the medical profession, three criteria must be met for the pilot project: the vaccine supply chain must function without any problems for the practices, the vaccine must be able to be stored in the practices without any problems, and politicians must clearly clarify what the vaccine sequence looks like.

"The doctors do not want discussions in the practices, who comes first," said the spokesman.

There should be more information about the project in the coming week.
