Leipzig (dpa / sn) - The Leipzig police are on the trail of a gang whose account is said to have resulted in numerous break-ins in doctors' offices and companies.

Three suspects have already been arrested, the police said on Friday.

The gang consists of 12 to 15 men and women between the ages of 20 and 40 years.

They are also said to have repeatedly stolen cars from the companies they broke into.

Last year alone, the suspects had caused an estimated damage of 490,000 euros.

A 38-year-old man was arrested in mid-January, followed by a 20-year-old a few days later.

Another, 31-year-old suspect was caught on Thursday after a chase with the police in Leipzig.

He was stranded in a stolen car with punctured tires on the tram track.

He and his accomplices are said to have stolen at least 18 vehicles.

The two men and the woman are in custody.

The investigation into the rest of the gang continues.
