Mainz (dpa / lrs) - When implementing the corona aid programs of the federal government and the state, the Investment and Structure Bank (ISB) Rhineland-Palatinate approved almost 94,000 applications with a total amount of almost 790 million euros last year.

That made up almost a third of the total business, as the state-owned bank announced on Friday.

In Rhineland-Palatinate, she is responsible, among other things, for approving and paying out Corona emergency aid.

In the first half of the year alone, the ISB made a good 69,000 commitments totaling around 543 million euros for emergency aid from the federal government.

"The past year is not comparable to anything," said ISB board spokesman Ulrich Dexheimer.

"We were faced with major challenges to a particularly high degree and provided the companies in the country with assistance."

The ISB also paid out bridging aid I and II from the federal government.

According to its own information, it approved a total of 9,867 applications with a volume of 124.5 million euros.

Around 115 million euros were then added to the so-called November aid for 12 368 companies and self-employed people.

According to the ISB, 7,258 applications totaling 35.4 million euros have been approved for December aid, which has been processed since February 1st.

Since last week, applications for bridging aid III have been made, so far there have been down payments from the federal government.

Social housing subsidies also played an important role in the business of the state-owned bank last year.

The number of subsidized residential units rose from 2,460 in 2019 to 2,848. The subsidy volume was increased to 337.7 million euros after 232.8 million euros in 2019.

"This means that the ISB has approved the highest volume of grants and loans in social housing promotion to date," said the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ISB, State Secretary for Finance Stephan Weinberg (SPD).
