Hildesheim (dpa / lni) - The verdict against a former department head of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund for fraud, aiding and abetting breach of trust and the procuring of child and youth pornographic publications is final.

The Federal Court of Justice has confirmed the ruling from November 2019 on a total imprisonment of three years and six months, as the Hildesheim Regional Court announced on Friday.

Accordingly, the BGH rejected the appeals by the defendant and the public prosecutor's office as unfounded.

The now 38-year-old has to go to jail.

The ASB Social Services had been operating asylum seekers accommodation on behalf of the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior and the state reception authority since 2015.

From 2017 on, the country is said to have transferred a total of 8.1 million euros to an account that was only apparently set up for the GmbH.

In fact, two executives at the time are said to have used the money for private purposes.

Both were sentenced to prison terms.

The judgment against the ex-managing director of an ASB subsidiary was already final.

The man was jailed for six and a half years.

In November 2019, the Hildesheim Regional Court ordered the collection of the amounts of 6.85 million euros obtained from the offenses.

The former department head has to be liable for almost 1.5 million euros, the former managing director for the rest.
