Berlin (dpa / bb) - After a cellar fire in a high-rise building in Berlin-Friedrichshain, 37 residents were treated by the rescue service - but nobody had to go to the hospital.
The fire broke out on Thursday evening in four cellar cubicles in the eleven-story house, as the fire department announced.
Since the cellar was connected to the basement of an adjoining house, the smoke also moved there.
A total of five stairwells in both buildings were smoky.
The fire brigade took two residents with fire hoods outside and two other people with ladders from a canopy where they had escaped.
The fire brigade was now on site with 125 emergency services.
The cause of the fire is still unclear.
