Among foreigners who are undergoing deportation procedures, those who meet the conditions such as low risk of escape are allowed to live with relatives until they move out, such as the Immigration Control Law. The amendment has been decided.

For foreigners who have been deported due to illegal stay, etc., there are a number of cases in which detention at facilities is prolonged by refusing to leave the country.

To solve these problems, the government decided on the 19th to amend the Immigration Control and Refuge Law.

In the amendment, people who meet certain conditions, such as a new "supervision measure" will be set up until they move out, and there is a low risk of escape, will not be accommodated in the facility as before, but relatives and support. It is allowed to live with people.

In addition, in order to encourage voluntary departure, even after being deported, if you leave the country at your own expense, there is also a provision that allows you to shorten the period until re-entry, which is prohibited for 5 years in principle, to 1 year. It was included.

The government will submit the revised bill to the current Diet and aim to pass it.
