Berlin (AP) - Basketball Bundesliga team Alba suffered the next defeat in the Euroleague despite a good performance.

On Friday evening, the Berliners lost 84:89 (42:45) at the top Turkish club Fenerbahce Istanbul.

After the fourth bankruptcy in a row in the premier class, Alba remains in the table cellar.

The best Berlin throwers were Marcus Eriksson with 19 and Ben Lammers with 16 points.

Alba coach Aito Garcia Reneses had to do without the injured trio Niels Giffey, Jayson Granger and Louis Olinde.

But playmaker Peyton Siva celebrated his comeback again.

The four days without a game were noticeable for the Berliners.

Alba started out full of energy and highly concentrated.

They immediately took a 5-0 lead and were very accurate on the offensive - especially in the distance throws.

After a few minutes, the hosts got into the game better.

At the end of the first quarter they went in the front for the first time (24:22).

Now a match developed at eye level.

Alba kept up well against the favorites, and a five-point deficit (39:44) shortly before the break did not disturb the Berliners.

Immediately after changing sides, they took the lead back.

But Alba now left some open throws unused and Fenerbahce used that to gain thirteen points three minutes before the end (85:72).

But the Berliners never gave up, barely a minute and a half before the end, they were back to three points.

But Fenerbahce kept his nerve.
