Cologne (dpa / bb) - The Eisbären Berlin have expanded their successful streak in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

On Friday evening the leaders of the northern group won 6-1 (4-1, 1-0, 1-0) at the Kölner Haien and celebrated his fifth victory in a row.

Lukas Reichel, Giovanni Fiore, Leonhard Pföderl, Matt White, Zach Boychuk and Kris Foucault scored for the brilliant capitals who only had difficulties in the first few minutes.

In front of empty stands in the Cologne arena, the hosts took the lead early: Julian Chrobot scored in his own third after the polar bears lost a puck.

But the Berliners were unimpressed, increased the pressure and consistently used weaknesses in the Cologne defense: Reichel equalized after a nice move in the power play, Fiore, Pföderl and White ensured a clear lead with their goals before the first break.

After the restart, the guests remained superior in all respects and also used their second opportunity to outnumber: Boychuk extended the lead.

In the final section, Foucault provided the Berliners' third power play goal, who then even had some chances of an even bigger win.
