Erfurt (dpa / th) - In Thuringia, 187 people have been infected with the highly infectious variants of the coronavirus.

With 146 cases, the virus change B.1.1.7, observed for the first time in Great Britain, was most frequently detected in Free State, the State Chancellery announced on Friday.

Thuringia remains the federal state most severely affected by the pandemic.

The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days was 116.7 on Thursday and has thus weakened slightly compared to the previous day (119.5).

From Thursday to Friday, 474 new infections and 19 more deaths were reported in Thuringia.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 72,656 people have been infected - 2702 people have died with or from Covid-19.

The highest seven-day incidence was as of Friday with 212.9 in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district.

The Nordhausen district had the lowest value with 37.2.
