The coronavirus pandemic in Moscow is declining.

Mayor of the capital Sergei Sobyanin wrote about this in his blog.

He emphasized that the city's health care system withstood the extreme stress, including due to the fact that Moscow doctors did not face a shortage of medical equipment.

The mayor recalled that back in 2011-2013.

in the capital, a complete re-equipment of hospitals and polyclinics was carried out, in particular, surgical robots, tomographs and angiographs were purchased in large quantities.

“During a pandemic, these tomographs saved thousands of human lives, making it possible to provide early diagnosis of covid pneumonia, and therefore - timely treatment of sick people,” Sobyanin emphasized.

Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor for Social Development, clarified that the decline in incidence is observed in all age groups of Moscow residents.

According to her, the decrease in cases of coronavirus among children of middle and high school in the last four weeks is about 30%, and among students in elementary grades, it has decreased by 11%.

In Russia, over the past day, 13 433 new cases of COVID-19 were detected.

The largest number of them were registered in Moscow (1972), St. Petersburg (1087) and the Moscow region (687).

The press service of Rospotrebnadzor reported that more than 108.3 million laboratory tests for the presence of infection have already been carried out in the Russian Federation.

Over 604.3 thousand people remain under medical supervision.

On the eve of the head of the department Anna Popova noted that the spread of coronavirus infection in the country can be contained "by joint efforts."

At the same time, she recalled that respiratory infections are most active in late winter - early spring.

“Now we cannot say that everything is over and we are letting go of the situation.

This is not true.

Today the risks are still quite high, ”she said on the air of the Russia 1 TV channel.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor drew attention to the fact that over the winter period, immunity in people weakened.

“There is also a fairly well-known epidemiological rule: people who get sick at the beginning of the epidemiological situation and at the end are the most sick.

Right now, the main thing is not to be among those who fall ill at the end of the epidemic situation, ”Popova warned.

As noted by the chief sanitary doctor, various strains of COVID-19 identified abroad are not widespread in the country at the moment.

She also stressed that the Russian vaccines EpiVacCorona and Sputnik V are effective against the British strain of SARS-CoV-2.
