Today, Thursday, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced the dissolution of the first chamber of parliament (the National People's Assembly), as well as the holding of early legislative elections.

In his speech to the nation on the occasion of the Commemoration Day, Tebboune said: “We had reduced the powers of the president of the republic and strengthened the powers of the parliament.

In his speech, the Algerian president announced a "presidential pardon that included 30 detainees who were finally sentenced" in Hirak cases, stressing the need to open doors for young people "to have political weight and to break into political institutions."

In the same letter, Tebboune announced his intention to conduct a government reshuffle within the next 48 hours, including sectors that the citizen feels are deficient in performing their duties.
