Spalt (dpa / lby) - Looking for help, refilling the draft beer into bottles and, if necessary, drinking up the stocks - after this fun ad in a carnival newspaper, the phones at the city brewery in Spalt in Middle Franconia are no longer silent.

A number of people have already applied, some of them with a correct CV, said brewery spokesman Markus Böhm on Thursday.

Bayerischer Rundfunk had previously reported on the joking advertisement in the Spalter carnival newspaper “Razet-Bote”, which has now made the rounds on social media - but without any indication that it is fun.

The whole thing has been going through the roof since Wednesday, said Böhm.

There are now two of them at the brewery answering calls and emails.

The corona crisis hits the small breweries in Bavaria particularly hard.

Because of the closed restaurants and the ban on public festivals, they lose up to 70 percent of their sales, according to the Bavarian Brewers' Association.

If possible, breweries are therefore increasingly bottling their beer in order to sell it in stores.

So that beer bought before the lockdown doesn't go bad, some innkeepers are currently giving away the kegs or selling them for less.

Others give them back to the breweries.

According to Böhm, there are no beer barrels stacked at the brewery in Spalt (Roth district).

"But it could happen if the lockdown lasts any longer and the beer is returned."
