Traditional car companies have more traffic
In the current market, most mainstream pure electric vehicle brands pay attention to the "networking" of new vehicles and have introduced data flow policies.
Taking Xiaopeng Motors as an example, it currently provides 5G/month free traffic, and the excess is paid.
Xiaopeng also provides unlimited data plans, provided that you purchase Yuepeng services.
Ideal car offers a free plan of 20G/month, but there is a three-year time limit.
Weilai Auto provides 8G/month of free data traffic. If the service is worry-free, the free traffic can be increased to 15G/month.
As of now, Tesla has implemented a free traffic policy for the time being.
It is worth noting that in overseas markets, Tesla's data traffic fee has been changed to a $9.99/month plan.
There are also car companies launching "free lifetime data", but it should be pointed out that this package does not include audio-visual entertainment data.
In contrast, traditional auto companies' traffic policies are generous.
SAIC GM will expand the free traffic from the original 24G/year to 100G/year.
GAC Aian takes it a step further, not only providing free data traffic services, but these data traffic can not only be used for OTA upgrades, car navigation, but also for audio-visual entertainment.

We interviewed 15 car owners and found an average of 7.9G/month.
The top four apps that use the most traffic are navigation, music, OTA upgrade and video.
Navigation is the "killer" of traffic?

The test mileage is about 40 kilometers of urban roads from Pazhou to the airport, and the driving time is about 1 hour.
During the test, the tester also turned on the mobile navigation and selected the dynamic traffic mode to update the road conditions in real time.
In the entire test, 128M traffic was used for car navigation, while mobile navigation traffic was only 9M.
Why is the gap so big?
The key is the map.
