Zakharova noted that the exercises at the very borders of Russia are anti-Russian and threaten peace and stability.

“The impression is that the American Sixth Fleet in the Black Sea is impatient to find the enemy, but they are doing it in vain,” she said.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the alliance has strengthened its presence in the Black Sea in response to Russia's actions in the region.

On February 11, the Russian Embassy assessed the message of the US Sixth Fleet about the joint military exercises between Washington and Ankara in the Black Sea.
