Two Seoul Mayor candidates, Ahn Chul-soo and Geum Tae-seop, who set out to unify

candidates had their first TV discussion.

Although they were bumped on some issues, they criticized the current government's real estate policy with one voice.

[Ahn Cheol-soo/People's Party Candidate: If a new real estate policy comes out now because the people have lost trust, then the house price will rise again.]

[Keum Tae-seop/Independent Candidate: (Unauthorized users) can't get a loan.

So, people who only have a lot of cash and don't need to protect at all make the jackpot...

.] It means

that the basic right of the people to live in a good place was restricted due to the regulation-oriented real estate policy. If so, we examined what the two candidates made for Seoul real estate pledge.

Reporter Kim Soo-young covered it.

Candidate Ahn Cheol-soo of the People's Party makes'Seoul-type Tech City' as his representative pledge.

Based on industry-academia cooperation, it is planning to create six spaces in Seoul where technology start-ups are free, but the site will be secured by underground railways.

[Ahn Cheol-soo/Kukminist Party Mayor of Seoul Candidate: Together, it is about 57km, in Seoul.

It's all underground, and then you have 2 million square meters of space above it.] The

key is financial resources.

Experts analyze that the cost of underground 1m railroad tracks is'over 100 million won on average'.

So, this pledge will cost over 5.7 trillion won, and we have to answer how we will raise this money.

How about the pledge to supply 764,000 new homes over the next five years through the underground railway site, reconstruction, and redevelopment maintenance projects?

[Chang-Moo Lee/Professor of Department of Urban Engineering at Hanyang University: (Real estate prices) Just rise, these momentums will arise, but if prices stabilize again, there may be a period of time when the New Town business collapsed...

]

Independent Candidate Tae-seop Geum's representative pledge is to build a'high-density multi-use city'.

It is said that Seoul is supplying 250,000 new homes in a way that raises the floor area ratio as there is not enough land available.

[Geum Tae-seop/Independent Mayor of Seoul Candidate: We will boldly expand public redevelopment in accordance with the needs of residents, including 393 areas in which the existing redevelopment designation has been lifted.]

However, it is a homework to be solved that this is not possible with the authority of Seoul alone.

[Jung Dae-jung / Professor of Real Estate Department at Myongji University: The mayor's authority is up to 300% (floor area ratio).

But if you want to go beyond that, you have to (consult) with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.] Since the

two candidates haven't come up with a pledged household account book yet, we need to carefully consider the plans for financing the future.
