Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - The Lufthansa Group wants to offer its new long-haul holiday flight offer initially only from Frankfurt.

The new flight operation "Eurowings Discover" already has a team of 350 employees on board and is to start with three jets to overseas tourist destinations from June, as the designated marketing chief Helmut Wölfel confirmed to the specialist magazine "fvw" (Thursday).

In the upcoming winter flight schedule, seven long-haul aircraft will be used, although flights from Munich are not yet planned.

“But we will most likely not see the Munich departure location next winter.

We don't want to get bogged down and deliver quality, ”said Wölfel to the specialist portal.

The new platform is also associated with the expansion of Lufthansa's tourist offer as a result of the Corona crisis.

Under the working title of "Ocean" it had already been sharply criticized by the Lufthansa pilots.

The already existing "Ocean GmbH" is to be renamed "EW Discover GmbH" in March.

The Condor airline fears considerable competition and has taken legal action because the Lufthansa Group terminated a long-term agreement on feeder flights in the autumn.
