Darmstadt (dpa / lhe) - Two people were injured in a fire in an apartment building in Darmstadt.
As the police announced on Thursday, the fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon after initial findings in the kitchen of the ground floor apartment.
Oil must have ignited there.
While trying to extinguish the fire, the 28-year-old resident suffered smoke poisoning.
The smoke also moved into the attic apartment of the house, which also caused a 27-year-old resident of the house to be poisoned with smoke.
Both wounded were taken to a hospital.
According to the police, parts of the kitchen and the kitchen windows were damaged by the heat.
The fire brigade estimates the damage to be around 30,000 euros.
