Leipzig (dpa) - In Saxony there are no more championship games in handball at the state level this season.
With its unanimous decision, the Presidium followed a request from the Technical Commission to end the season.
Due to the renewed extension of the measures to combat the corona pandemic over the next few weeks and the associated imponderables for the planning of games, championship games in the adult and youth sector and a proper end of the season are no longer realistic, it said in support of an HVS -Message from Thursday.
The games that have been played so far are therefore canceled, there are no promoted or relegated players.
Should it be possible to return to play in the foreseeable future with a corresponding lead time for handball-specific training, an attempt will be made to hold the HVS Cup in the adult area by the end of June and the youth cup in the junior area.
In addition, the association would actively support a possible voluntary friendly game operation both in the adult and in the youth sector, according to the announcement.
