Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - The trial of a death almost 30 years ago will continue before the Saarbrücken regional court on Wednesday.

The two men accused are said to have killed a man who disappeared without a trace in September 1991 and was then 27 years old.

The Germans, now 55 and 56 years old, are charged with joint murder.

You have announced that you will not speak in court.

Two testimonies are planned on the second day of the trial.

The man who, following information from the personal environment of one of the accused, had restarted the investigation last year is also expected to be heard.

Originally, three men were suspected of maliciously killing and burying the victim from Völklingen.

They are said to have lured him into a forest near Wadgassen because of an alleged drug deal, killed him and buried him in a prepared pit.

One of the three alleged perpetrators who came into custody in early August 2020 had committed suicide in prison on January 5.
