“I would not rule out anything in this area,” RIA Novosti quotes Ryabkov's answer to a question about the possibility of amending Russian legislation in the IT sphere against the background of the publication of fake materials about uncoordinated actions that took place earlier in Russia.

He stressed that "the correction of legislation, including in this area, is necessary."

“Colleagues in the Internet giants, working with a multi-billion dollar audience in the world, as they say, have gone a little too far from the point of view of forming their own ideas about permissiveness,” Ryabkov added.

According to him, censoring of content on Western social networks and on large media platforms "is becoming more and more frequent."

Earlier it was reported that the State Duma Committee on Information Policy is developing a bill regulating the opening of representative offices or branches of foreign Internet companies in Russia.
