Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The step-by-step plan for the opening of daycare centers in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, which is to apply from next Monday, is too confusing for the GEW educators' union.

"The division into a total of five levels, each with assigned periods of time until their entry is difficult to understand and can lead to uncertainty on the part of the educators: inside and parents," said GEW state chairwoman Annett Lindner on Wednesday.

According to information from the union, the step-by-step plan provides for increasing restrictions in daycare operations if certain incidence values are exceeded in the individual counties and urban districts.

If there are 35 infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days, regular operations will run normally; if the value is between 35 and 49.9, restrictions on singing and sports are provided.

The restrictions should begin when the limit value is reached or exceeded five days in a row.

With incidences between 50 and 99.9, parents are only allowed to enter the facilities in exceptional cases and masks must be worn in the after-school care center, including by the children.

With an incidence of 100 to 149.9, parents should be asked to look after their children at home.

From an incidence of 150 or a diffuse occurrence with mutation, emergency care should be switched to.

Lindner suggested that the state publish daily on its website from Monday the level in which the respective district and the independent cities are.

In addition, according to Lindner, the development of the incidences should be shown in order to create the greatest possible transparency.
